Shalom and welcome to Congregation Beth Israel. We are the largest and oldest Synagogue on the Monterey Peninsula. There is a strong sense of community here. We want all our members and visitors to feel comfortable at CBI.
We are a Reform Congregation, a member of the Union For Reform Judaism, in the mainstream of liberal Judaism. As liberal Jews we look to our heritage as a repository of wisdom, insight and numerous possibilities for religious expression.
We welcome you to join us at one of our Friday evening or Saturday morning Shabbat services. To learn more about the Temple through personal contact, please contact our Temple office at (831) 624-2015 or E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. We would be delighted to go over membership possibilities for you and to answer any questions you might have
CBI’s doors are open to all who seek the guidance of our Jewish faith and we value the participation and input of all our members and supporters. We strive to make a positive impact on our community and the human condition through Tikkun Olam.
CBI is a proud American synagogue that loves and supports the Jewish homeland in Israel. We endeavor to instill pride in our identity, recognizing those who came before us and building a strong Jewish foundation for future generations.
CBI’s members and guests are all accepted equally, and know that they will be respected and encouraged to participate through community study, worship and celebration. We derive programming and administrative strength from our affiliation with the Union for Reform Judaism.
