PJ Library and PJ Our Way in Monterey County
The PJ Library (PJ as in pajamas) provides your family with a FREE treasury of Jewish books and music. Children up to age 9 within Monterey County are eligible to subscribe. It is easy to enroll! To enroll click here or visit the PJ Library website to enroll.
PJ Our Way is for kids ages 8 ½ – 11 who are ready to graduate from picture books into chapter books. Parents give their children permission to go on-line and choose their monthly book (it is NOT chosen for them, they must actively select a book each month). Similar to PJ Library, the subscription is free. Go to the PJ Our Way website to enroll.
Whether you’re a parent, a grandparent, or friend of someone with young children, please help us share news of this special program with Jewish families throughout the Monterey County area who have children through age 11. Are there children you love who live outside of this community? You are welcome to go online to locate the child’s community to sign them up. PJ Library subscriptions are supported by Congregation Beth Israel, donations to this wonderful program are encouraged. Please visit the PJ Library Donation Page and indicate our community as the recipient of your gift (93923).
Our thanks go to the Harold Grinspoon Foundation and the Hornik Family Foundation who underwrite this worthy program allowing your children their free subscriptions.
Children ages 2 1/2 – 5, with a parent, are invited to celebrate the Jewish holidays on a monthly basis with experienced Early Childhood Educator, Chinanit Kershner. The children will learn about the holidays with a PJ Library story and a craft. Families are encouraged to sign up for the 10 month series at $45, but drop-in attendance is welcome at $10 for each program. Call the CBI office at (831) 624-2015 or email DirectorLouise@aol.com.
