PJ LIBRARY and PJ Our Way in Monterey County

PJ Our Way is for kids ages 8 ½ - 11 who are ready to graduate from picture books into chapter books.   Parents give their children permission to go on-line and choose their monthly book (it is NOT chosen for them, they must actively select a book each month).  Similar to PJ Library, the subscription is free. My Munchkin & Me meets one Sunday a month from 10:00 - 11:30.   The group opens and closes with parents and children together.  In between, little ones will gather with Early Childhood Educator Monica Browning and two assistants to create a craft and hear a story based around a Jewish value.  Parents will meet together in a separate room to discuss parenting issues as presented in the “Joys and Oys of Parenting” by Elias & Gootman.

The 8 month program series costs $50 which includes the book as well as adult and children’s snacks.  Parents with school-aged children are welcome to join the discussion group for $35.   Drop-in participation is $10 per session.
